I had 2 hernias on which Mr Imber operated.
From start to finish my care under Mr Imber was excellent. As soon as I met him I felt at ease. He explained everything that would happen during my procedure and how I would feel afterwards. He took time to listen to my concerns. He is a brilliant surgeon and a nice man. I would certainly recommend him. I would also like to mention having never had surgery before, many phone calls were made to Mr Imber's secretary, she was also always pleasant and helpful.

Mr Imber was very effective in my treatment. Before I attended my first appointment, he had already reviewed the results of my scan and recommended a course of action straight away. My procedure was scheduled for 2 weeks later, and everything went smoothly. I am very satisfied with Mr Imber’s treatment and would gladly recommend him to any other gallstone sufferers. Special mention to Mr Imber’s secretary as well, who was very helpful and responsive during the process.

He treated me for a liver cyst and performed a fenestration which solved the problem without a painful recovery. My follow up appointment was also fine and thorough. I felt confident with Mr. Imber from day 1, and his lovely PA Rachel was also very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend Mr. imber for this kind of surgery.

Mr Imber is an extremely nice man and in my opinion an excellent consultant. I had a completely positive experience and excellent care under his provision. He was very open when discussing my case and at every stage made me feel listened to. I highly recommend him. His PA Rachel is also highly personable and efficient, dealing with any logistical concerns immediately.

Mr Charles Imber is currently a leading London Teaching Hospital Hepatobiliary Pancreatic (HPB) Consultant as well as a liver transplant surgeon working at the Royal Free Hospital and Cleveland Clinic London. he completed his medical degree at Cambridge University, where he also received an honours degree in Oncology and Immunology. He was awarded his higher research thesis MD from Oxford University looking art aspects of liver preservation for transplantation.
He has a special interest in all aspects of benign and malignant liver and pancreas related surgery, liver transplantation, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He was awarded an HCA travelling fellowship in 2012, the presentation travel award from the International Liver Transplant Society (2003), and the Hanson Research fellow and scholarship from Oxford University (1990). He has over 90 peer reviewed publications in journals including the Lancet, as well as having written 5 book chapters.
He has an extensive private practice attracting patients from both within the UK and also worldwide. He performed the first robotic liver and pancreas resections in the UK with successful outcomes and is a pioneer in all forms of minimally advanced surgery.
